brew guide
BLACK TEA
Brew temperature for black teas should be between 96-98 degrees Celsius. The reason to brew different teas at different temperatures is that aromas develops different depending on temperature. To hot water usually results in burned tastes. Black Teas is dozed one teaspoon per cup and should be brewed for approximately 4 minutes. If you are drinking your tea with milk and/or sugar, let it extract a little longer. Be carefull with the timing, the tannins in black tea swiftly develops bitter tastes.
gREEN teA
Brew temperature for green teas should be around 80 degrees Celsius, because the tea is more sensitive and are easily burnt. Because the green tea is so fragile, the brew time should never extend 3 minutes. The elusive notes will disappear directly when mixed with milk and sugar. We recommend to drink green teas clean.
rED teA/ROOIBOS
Rooibos teas are very tough and can be brewed at 97 – 100 degrees Celsius, they should be brewed for at least 3 minutes. Rooibos dose not contain any tannins, so the tea can in theory extract for ever without being bitter. If you are drinking your tea with milk and/or sugar, let it extract a little longer.
chai
The classic indian spice mix. Mix with water and let simmer in a pot for 10 minutes. To enhance the experience, substitute half of the water with milk and add honey before serving. If you are brewing your Chai as normal tea let it extract a couple of minutes longer.
